Working with philanthropists, ISB researchers are "inventing the future" of health care and biomedical inquiry. Donors have helped ISB create a unique scientific atmosphere, open without internal walls and academic departments. Because of our independence and vision, ISB has created a true cross-disciplinary environment with renowned researchers from multiple fields sharing state of the art laboratories and computational technologies.
Systems biology and the research to advance P4 Medicine™ are expensive undertakings. The Institute does not enjoy the financial advantages of a large university or academic health center, and our primary source of operational funding has been federal grants and research contracts. While helpful, these are generally tied to specific projects and not intended to fund new groundbreaking work.
Private donors are our partners for truly innovative research, the development of new technologies, and building the laboratories necessary for such leading edge work. ISB is a welcoming home for donors who want to provide the resources to pioneer new approaches in biology, medicine and health care for the 21st century.
